WINTHROP'S “LONG ISLAND MIRACLES” SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST ADVOCACY GROUP MEETING JUNE 13

“A Patient’s Guide to Heart Rhythm Problems”

Winthrop-University Hospital’s “Long Island Miracles” Advocacy Group, the Long Island Chapter of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, will offer a free lecture, “A Patient’s Guide to Heart Rhythm Problems,” on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 7:00 PM. The program will be held at Winthrop’s Community Outreach Center, located at 101 Mineola Boulevard at the corner of Second Street in Mineola.

Todd J. Cohen, MD, a nationally known expert in the field of cardiac arrhythmias and director of electrophysiology and the Pacemaker/Arrhythmia Center at Winthrop, will explain heart rhythm problems in a “layman’s terms” as he speaks about various conditions associated with arrhythmias and recommended treatments. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.

Dr. Cohen is known for his expertise in treating the full range of arrhythmias and for his accomplishments as an inventor. Recently, he published a Johns Hopkins Press Health Book, A Patient’s Guide to Heart Rhythm Problems, which was named one of the Top 10 Consumer Health Brooks by Library Journal and has received rave reviews of leading experts. In it, Dr. Cohen provides useful and comprehensive information, in easy-to-understand language, about abnormal cardiac rhythms, their diagnosis and treatment.
