WINTHROP CLINICAL TRIALS CENTER SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR CLINICAL RESEARCH STUDY OF GOUT

Winthrop-University Hospital’s Clinical Trials Center and Gary Rosenblum, DO, Attending Physician from Winthrop’s Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology, are seeking volunteers for a clinical research study to evaluate an investigational medication for individuals with gout and a history of cardiovascular disease, such as stroke or heart attack.

To be eligible for the study, participants must be at least 50 years of age (females must be postmenopausal), must have experienced a gout flare and must have a history of cardiovascular disease, such as stroke or heart attack. Eligible participants will receive study-related medical exams, research medication and laboratory tests at no cost to them while participating in the research study. Compensation may also be provided for time and travel.
