“OH, MY ACHING BACK” TOPIC OF FREE LECTURE AT WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL APRIL 5TH
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Perspectives in Health series will offer a free lecture, “Oh, My Aching Back!” on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 7:00 PM. It will be held at Winthrop’s Community Outreach Center, 101 Mineola Boulevard at the corner of Second Street in Mineola and will highlight techniques that can be used to provide relief.
Nancy Epstein, MD, Chief of Neurosurgical Spine and Education at Winthrop, will provide an overview of the diagnostic process and the latest advances in treatment options for different causes of back pain, including degenerative, congenital and injury-related problems. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.
Dr. Epstein is a Diplomate of The American Board of Neurological Surgeons. She has over 165 publications and is a member of the editorial boards of six major spine journals: Spine, Journal of Spinal Disorders and Techniques, The Spine Journal, Surgical Neurology, Spinal Cord (England), and Spinal Surgery (Japan). She is also a Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
