“FINDING STRENGTH TOGETHER” FREE PROGRAM FOR COUPLES COPING WITH BREAST CANCER

Winthrop-University Hospital’s Breast Health Center announced that it will hold an innovative program, “Finding Strength Together: A New Tool for Couples,” starting Wednesday, February 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The four-part series will be held at the Winthrop Wellness Pavilion, 1300 Franklin Avenue, Suite ML-5 in Garden City and is designed to provide strategies to help couples tackle the challenge of coping with breast cancer.

Sessions and topics are scheduled as follows: February 2 – Solving Problems and Managing Issues; February 9 – Improving Communication; February 16 – Exploring Your Role as Caregiver or Survivor; and February 23 – Integrating Problem-solving into your “New Normal.”

Sessions will be led by Alisha Ellis, LMSW, MA. Advance registration and pre-screening is required. For more information or to register, please call Ms. Ellis at (516) 663-2556.
