WINTHROP'S CANCER CENTER FOR KIDS RECEIVES $5,000 GRANT FROM ASTORIA FEDERAL SAVINGS

Michael Carbone, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager for Astoria Federal Savings in Williston Park; former CCFK patient Christine Cuttonaro; Mark Weinblatt, MD, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Winthrop-University Hospital and Director of the Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK); Sharon Coritsidis, RN, MSN, Nurse Practitioner at the CCFK; Linda Sweeney, Practice Manager of the CCFK; Cathy Shimmel, RN, MA, Nurse Manager of the CCFK; and Barry Cosel-Pieper, Director of Development at Winthrop.
Mineola, NY – The Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) at Winthrop-University Hospital recently received a $5,000 grant from Astoria Federal Savings. The grant will support the Generation of Survivors – The Pat Lyons Long Term Follow-Up Program, a unique program that follows childhood cancer survivors through adulthood to monitor their health and help them cope with potential after-effects of treatment, long after their therapy has ended.For additional information about the Cancer Center for Kids or the Generation of Survivors Program, please call (516) 663-9400.
