How Can I Help?

The Winthrop Diabetes Education Center is committed to providing diabetes self-management education and support to individuals of ages who are living with diabetes and those who are trying to prevent diabetes. Unfortunately, these essential services are poorly reimbursed by insurers. Please consider a gift to the Winthrop Diabetes Education Center as part of your charitable giving plans, join our team of volunteers who are making a difference, or participate in one of our research programs.

Make a Donation

Consider a donation:

  1. In lieu of flowers as part of a memorial gift
  2. In honor of a family member who lives with diabetes
  3. To fund a special project

Gifts to the Diabetes Education Center may be in the form of an outright donation, a pledge payable over time, a bequest in your Will or through the use of other planned giving instruments.

Winthrop’s Office of Development would be happy to discuss any of these options with you. All gifts are tax deductible. To make a donation online, please visit Winthrop’s Donation page, or for more information, call (516) 663-3398.

Become a Volunteer

We continually seek volunteers to support our efforts. If you enjoy assembling teaching tools or sharing your unique talents, you can call us at (516) 663-2350 to learn more about volunteer opportunities.

Participate in Research

You can also help advance diabetes care by participating in research conducted by the Winthrop Clinical Trials Center.
