Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Winthrop-University Hospital need your support?

As a world-class healthcare institution on Long Island, your generous philanthropic contribution helps to support outstanding patient care programs as well as underwrite medical education and research initiatives. Contributions also provide capital funds for the acquisition of advanced technology and facilities improvement and expansion.

Where does your support go?

You decide where your support goes! By making an "unrestricted" gift, your funds are used to address the most necessary and critical needs of the Hospital. You can also "restrict" your gift to support a major project, a special program, or research. Contact the Development Office at (516) 663-3398 for more information on making a gift.

How much should you give?

Giving is a personal decision. You can give as much as you like. Ask yourself this simple question: "Why am I considering a gift to Winthrop?" Perhaps it is for the care and attention you, a loved one or friend received, or because of the high regard you have for Winthrop. Whatever the reason, we hope that you will be as generous as you can when making your gift to Winthrop.

Will you receive mailings if you make a gift?

>Yes! You will receive mailing to keep you up to date from Marketing and Public Relations, as well as other areas of the Hospital.
