Winthrop | Donate : 6th Annual CCFK Golf Outing Hits $250,000 Milestone
Friends and benefactors of the Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) at Winthrop-University Hospital gathered at the Hamlet Wind Watch Golf and Country Club in Hauppauge, NY on June 21 for the Sixth Annual Cancer Center for Kids Golf Outing. The event was a record-breaking success, raising nearly $50,000 in support of vital pediatric cancer services at Winthrop, bringing the groups total fundraising to more than $250,000.

Stroud, president of Atlas Investigations, Inc.
Six years ago, event founder and co-chairman Michael C. Stroud, president of Atlas Investigations, Inc., joined forces with his business associate, Rosemary Cinquemani, partner in the law firm of Furey, Kerley, Walsh, Matera & Cinquemani, P.C., to organize the first annual CCFK golf outing. One year later Frank Catelli, partner in the law firm of Furey, Furey, Leverage, Manzione, Williams & Darlington, P.C. came on board as a co-chair and since then, the trio’s hard work and generosity has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars for the Center’s pediatric patients and their families.
At this year’s event, more than 100 golfers enjoyed perfect weather while taking in stunning views of Long Island’s north shore. A relaxing day of golf was followed by a lively reception during which attendees savored delicious food, enjoyed great company and purchased raffle tickets for a variety of donated prizes.
“We would like to thank everyone who came out and generously supported this year's event,” said Ms. Cinquemani, who, like Mr. Stroud, was born at Winthrop and has had a long family history of medical care at the Hospital. “The physicians and staff at the CCFK provide invaluable services, care and compassion to young patients and their families. They need our continued support, and we hope everyone joins us again next year for our 7th Annual Golf Outing on June 20, 2011.”
