27th Annual Golf Tournament
Raises over $512,000 for Winthrop’s Research Institute
Both avid and casual golfers enjoyed balmy spring weather at Winthrop’s 27th Annual Golf Tournament, held on May 14, 2012 at The Creek and Meadow Brook Clubs. The highly anticipated annual event attracted over 320 golfers and a full house at the evening reception and awards ceremony, and raised $512,000 for Winthrop’s Research Institute.
Individual Low Gross winners included Gary DeRosa at the Meadow Brook Club and John LaRuffa at The Creek. Placing first in the Low Gross Team category at the Meadow Brook were Alex Barnett, John Gustafson, Eric Brooms and Howard Hsu playing for Steel Equities. Smith & DeGroat’s Al Babino, Matt Smith, Sam Smith and Patrick Smith took Low Gross at The Creek. Physician Low Gross scores were earned by Leonard Stein, MD, at the Meadow Brook Club, and Sung Jo Kim, MD at The Creek.
