The Diabetes Education Center at Winthrop-University Hospital
Founded in 1979, Winthrop-University Hospital’s Diabetes Education Center is accredited by the American Diabetes Association, in accordance with the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. The Center provides knowledge, skills and tools for individuals living with diabetes to enable them to successfully manage their chronic condition and avoid the many associated complications.
At the Diabetes Education Center, we are committed to meeting the diverse needs of the diabetes community, offering both group instruction and a variety of stand-alone courses that are taught in individual sessions. Some courses require multiple visits due to the extensive amount of information that needs to be covered. Ongoing follow-up is encouraged for all services.
Because family support is a crucial component to those who live with diabetes, we encourage family members to attend all of our programs.
