Body Composition Research Facility

In the early 1970s, Winthrop-University Hospital pioneered body composition and analysis studies.

Bone Mineral Research Center

The Hospital's Bone Mineral Research Center is actively involved in techniques and methods of body composition analysis, including total body fat mass, lean mass and skeletal mass. The Center has conducted multiple research trials examining changes in various body compartments in healthy and disease states. The facility is equipped with an advanced dual emission absorptiometry (DXA) scanner for body composition and analysis.
