Dr. Sunshine is Board Certified in Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons and the Nassau Academy of Medicine. He also served as a Clinical Instructor in Urology at the Weil Medical College of Cornell University. His postgraduate training includes a residency in urology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and a residency in general surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He earned his medical degree at the University of Monterrey Institute of Health Science - School of Medicine. Dr. Sunshine is a member of numerous professional medical organizations and is the recipient of the Physician Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. He is also a consultant and member of the Board of the New York State Department of Health, Office for Professional Medical Conduct. In 1998, Dr Sunshine was appointed Police Surgeon for the New York State Police Investigators Association and he also serves as a physician with the Nassau County Department of Health's Medical Reserve Corps.
