Pediatric Diabetes Center

Winthrop-University Hospital’s Pediatric Diabetes Center is an American Diabetes Association (ADA)-recognized pediatric diabetes and endocrine care program. The Center has treated more than 1,000 children with diabetes, hundreds of whom utilize insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.

The Winthrop Pediatric Diabetes Center also conducts community education and outreach programs, and has partnered with the Long Island-based Clara Barton Camp to produce and present diabetes education programs. The Center also works closely with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, helping the Foundation to expand its educational components.

The Winthrop Pediatric Diabetes Center conducts various teen, child and toddler support groups. In addition, members of the Winthrop Pediatric Diabetes Center are actively involved in research to identify, understand and treat pediatric diabetes patients.

Winthrop’s primary goal is to explore all treatment options to provide patients and their families with the best options for achieving and maintaining optimal glucose control.
