Sadie's Story

This is the story of Sadie, a young girl who at the age of 3 was diagnosed with Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma – an aggressive form of pediatric cancer. Sadie’s mother, Beth, chronicles Sadie’s story and the challenges that she and her family faced in the wake of Sadie’s diagnosis and treatment - challenges that were made easier, and ultimately overcome, thanks to the efforts of the doctors, nurses and Child Life Specialists at Winthrop-University Hospital and our world-class Cancer Center for Kids. Due to the collaborative nature of Sadie’s treatment and the amazing spirit shown by Sadie and her family, Sadie is now two years out of treatment, in full remission, and a 6 year-old girl leading a full, healthy and happy life.
