Wendy L. Kinzler, MD is a member of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Director of the Adverse Pregnancy Outcome Program, which serves to investigate causes and solutions of poor obstetrical outcomes, such as recurrent miscarriage, stillbirth and preterm delivery. She is the Associate Director of the joint Stony Brook-Winthrop University Hospitals Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Medicine. She is also the Associate Director of the Ob/Gyn Residency Program at Winthrop-University Hospital.

Dr. Kinzler is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Subspecialty of Maternal Fetal Medicine. She received her undergraduate and medical education as part of the Six-Year Medical Education Program at Boston University and went on to complete a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. and a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

She has experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of maternal and fetal complications of pregnancy, including the advanced use of prenatal ultrasound.

Dr. Kinzler has been an active researcher in the field of high-risk obstetrics and has a particular interest in placental dysfunction, fetal growth restriction and stillbirth. She has presented and published her research at several national meetings and is currently involved in a multicenter randomized clinical trial focusing on the use of progesterone in preventing preterm birth.

Most recently, Dr. Kinzler is participating in the 2008-2010 Fellowship in Medical Education at Stony Brook School of Medicine and looks forward to enhancing resident and fellow education in novel ways at Winthrop University Hospital.
