Genevieve Sicuranza, M.D. is the Chief of Obstetrics at Winthrop-University Hospital. She is an accomplished clinician who specializes in the management of pregnancies complicated by medical complications.

Dr. Sicuranza holds two board certifications. One in Obstetrics and Gynecology and another in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Dr. Sicuranza has been at Winthrop since 1994.


Her postgraduate training included a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook School of Medicine, a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, and an internship in internal medicine at St. Vincents Hospital in NYC. Dr. Sicuranza received her MD from UCCEM, an MS from CW Post University and a BS from St. John's University, all CumLaude.

Dr. Sicuranza is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook School of Medicine. She has been named Winthrop Outstanding Teaching Attending of the Year in 2002 and in 2006.

Dr. Sicuranza has been an active member of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology's Safe Motherhood Initiative and serves on various state wide committees dedicated to reducing Maternal Mortality in the state of New York. In addition, Dr. Sicuranza has spear-headed many Perinatal Safety initiatives at Winthrop and its affiliates further improving on a superior obstetrical care.

Dr. Sicuranza has contributed to several publications concerning diabetes in pregnancy and Doppler velocimetry.
