Diabetes And Pregnancy

Being diagnosed with diabetes prior to or during your pregnancy can be scary. Our staff, including everyone from our front desk, staff, nurses and perinatologists work together to help ensure that you receive the best care and treatment of your diabetes. Careful control of your diabetes will result ina healthy pregnancy and of course, give you a healthy baby.

Our diabetic program entails you meeting with the following staff members:
  • Nursing staff will introduce you to the overview of diabetes and instruct you on the use of a glucose meter to monitor your blood sugars.
  • A Certified Diabetic Nutritionist will then meet with you to devise a comprehensive custom diet plan specifically for you. They are also available to you throughout your pregnancy to revise your diet as needed.
  • A Perinatologist will review with you what you can expect during the pregnancy and how diabetes can affect both you and your baby.

  • All of what we do here at Winthrop comes down to one thing, ensuring you a healthy pregnancy and a happy, healthy baby. We understand that coping with diabetes, along with your pregnancy, is not an easy thing to do. Our staff is here for you and your familys needs and concerns.
