Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Winthrop's Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is a team of Board Certified physicians who specialize in high-risk pregnancy care. Winthrop�s team of physicians complements the care by obstetricians providing a comprehensive program for the assessment and care of the high-risk mother and fetus. Consultation and fetal testing are available for:
  • Mothers with medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, clotting disorders, renal disease, medication exposure or any other condition that may adversely affect the pregnancy outcome.
  • The fetus at risk for or with known conditions such as chromosomal abnormalities, congenital anomalies,, growth restriction, fetal anemia and many others.
  • Women with a history of Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes, such as preterm delivery, still birth and/or recurrent loss.

  • Making a difference

  • A perinatologist is available for each patient encounter.
  • Complications are immediately reported to the referring physician and a management plan is outlined.
  • Our clinical staff is available to assist patients with any questions and concerns. Reports are available to referring physicians within 24 hours.
