Winthrop's Cancer Center for Kids (CCK) is a state-of-the-science facility where children are given the best possible chance of recovery and cure through superior medical care, constant nurturing and unconditional support in an environment that promotes healing and meets the complex challenges of children’s cancers and blood disorders.
Embodying the principles of patient and family-centered care, the Center’s staff provides young patients with comprehensive, sensitive and compassionate care, offering families support from the moment of diagnosis, through intense treatments and long-term follow-up.
As much treatment as possible is offered in a beautifully appointed, child-friendly outpatient Center where select patients can receive transfusions, infusions, chemotherapy treatments, or even procedures under anesthesia in a safe and comforting environment.

The Cancer Center for Kids is Nassau County’s only member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG), a prestigious international consortium of collaborating hospitals recognized as leaders in the treatment of childhood cancers. COG membership places Winthrop at the forefront of research and the use of the latest treatment protocols. Collaborative studies and access to New York City’s bone marrow transplant units, which are integral to the Center’s delivery of care, further enhance the CCK’s world-class medicine.
