Dr. Oropallo is an attending vascular surgeon in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Her extensive skill set enables her to treat a wide range of vascular problems from carotid, peripheral and central arterial occlusive lesions to aneurysms, varicose veins and venous insufficiency. Dr. Oropallo performs conventional open vascular surgery, and is also able to treat many of these problems less invasively using endovascular techniques; she is also proficient in wound care.

Prior to joining Winthrop, Dr. Oropallo completed a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Boston University Medical Center in a program internationally recognized for treating the diabetic foot through a variety of techniques utilizing aggressive wound care and distal bypasses. She completed a residency in general surgery at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY, where she was Chief Resident.

Board certified in Surgery, Dr. Oropallo has published articles in peer reviewed journals and presented at major conferences, such as the 2006 New England Vascular Society regarding outcomes of her research in atherectomy and angioplasty with patients with peripheral arterial disease.

She was also presented with the Sigvaris Clinical Research Award at the 2007 American Venous Forum for her research involving venous disease.
