Study to Assess Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
Title: Pediatric Infectious Disease
Summary: The test that will be used to diagnose the presence of an RSV infection will be provided at no cost to you. Compensation for time and travel may be provided.
Description: Winthrop University Hospital, Department of Pediatric Infectious Disease is seeking infants whom were born between 32-35 weeks gestational age born during or after May of this year for an observational research study. If you agree to participate, your study doctor will collect information during your standard office visits, report any respiratory infections your child may develop and test for RSV infection.
Main inclusion criteria: ¥ Your infant was born at 32-35 weeks gestational age ¥ Your child is 6 months old or younger today, and was born during or after May of this year ¥ You are willing and available to return to the clinic for your childÕs regular/usual scheduled office visits and when your child is sick. ¥ Your child has not received RSV prophylaxis , and you are not already in a research study involving a specific therapy for RSV
