Justine Lachmann, MD, specializes in diagnosis and management of all stages of heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Her interests also include noninvasive cardiac imaging and cardiac resynchronization therapy. Prior to joining Winthrop, Dr. Lachmann served as Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Program at St. Francis Hospital.
Board Certified in Cardiology, her post-graduate training included a Fellowship in Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medial School, and a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center. She completed a residency in internal medicine at New York University/ Bellevue Hospital Medical Center and earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry-New Jersey Medical School.
Dr. Lachmann’s interest and expertise in treating patients with congestive heart failure is reflected in her participation as primary investigator in several research studies, including “HF-Action,” sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. She has been published multiple in peer-reviewed journals, including Circulation, the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, and the Journal of Congestive Heart Failure. She has also presented extensively at meetings of professional organizations, such as the American Heart Association and the Heart Failure Society of America. She has been mentioned in 2009 and 2010 Castle Connolly Top Doctors as well as in Newsday’s similar ratings.
