Joseph Germano, DO, Associate Director of the Electrophysiology Center at Winthrop-University Hospital, is skilled in radiofrequency catheter ablation, as well as device implantation and extraction.
Dr. Germano is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and eligible for certification in the subspecialties of Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
His postgraduate clinical training included fellowships in electrophysiology and cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, as well as a fellowship in cardiology at Winthrop, where he also completed a residency and internship in internal medicine. He received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury.
A member of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society, Dr. Germano has served as a manuscript referee on several professional editorial boards, including those of the American Journal of Cardiology, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, Circulation and the Journal of Invasive Cardiology. He has published several articles in professional journals.
