Dr. Jeffrey Brown is a board certified neurosurgeon nationally recognized for his expertise in complex facial pain derived from nerve injury.  Before joining Winthrop University Hospital, he was Professor of Neurological Surgery at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan where he was listed as one of the Castle Connelly Top Doctors in America.  He is a graduate of The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his neurosurgery training at The University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics. 

Dr. Brown is a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and chair of the Joint Section on Pain of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.  He has served on the neurosurgery advisory committee to the American College of Surgeons and is a past President of the Ohio State Neurosurgery Society.  He is the Northeast United States section chair of the Medical Advisory Board of TNA-the Facial Pain Society, an international support group for patients in with facial pain. 

Dr Brown is the author of more than 55 peer-reviewed research articles on pain, spine and vascular, brain tumor and functional neurosurgery in the neurosurgical literature in addition to more than 25 book chapters.  He has delivered more than 250 invited lectures at local, regional, national and international venues.  He has been listed as a top Metro NY doctor in every year since 2005.
