  • Harry Staszewski, MD
    Chief, Division of Oncology/Hematology

    Harry Staszewski, MD, is Chief of the Division of Oncology/Hematology. Caring for cancer patients since 1986, he also serves as Vice Chair of Winthrop's Institutional Review Board, which oversees clinical trial research conducted at Winthrop, and serves as Principal Investigator in numerous clinical trials exploring innovative therapies for the treatment of cancer. Additionally, he chairs the Hospital's Cancer Committee.

    A Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Staszewski is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology. His post-graduate training includes fellowships in Hematologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and in Hematology at Long Island Jewish Hospital. He completed a residency in medicine at North Shore University Hospital and received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Staszewski is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine at Stony Brook. He has published numerous articles in professional journals and presented many lectures on topics related to oncology/hematology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and American Association for Cancer Research.
