John A. Goncalves, MD, is a Winthrop cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in complex reconstruction of both the ascending and descending aorta.
An Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Goncalves is Board Certified in Surgery.
His post-graduate training includes fellowships in cardiothoracic surgery at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center and NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, as well as a residency in general surgery and a research fellowship in medicine and surgery at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College.
Dr. Goncalves has published articles in professional journals and presented lectures on a variety of topics.
