A Cause to Celebrate... Child Life

a cause to celebrate 2012

It was a full house at the Garden City Hotel on March 22, 2012 as 300 guests gathered to enjoy an evening marked by fine dining and a powerful musical performance by two-time GRAMMY® award-winner Rita Coolidge and her band, all to raise funds for a worthy cause. A Cause to Celebrate (formerly known as Opera Night) was the most successful gathering in the event’s 15-year history – raising more than $135,000 for Winthrop’s Child Life Program.

A Cause to Celebrate is a crucial annual event that garners support for the Hospital’s Child Life Program, through which specially trained Child Life Specialists help children and their families understand and cope with hospitalization. A vital program that operates across the full spectrum of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services at Winthrop, Child Life is supported in its entirety by philanthropic contributions.
