The Wings of Winthrop-University Hospital, one of the community-based fundraising arms of the Hospital's Auxiliary, which is celebrating 10 years of service, was pleased to host its Third Annual Mother/Daughter Brunch on March 2, 2014 at the Inn at New Hyde Park. With its "Brunch in the Caribbean" theme, the event brought together family, friends and neighbors for a time of celebration, and helped raise funds in support of an exciting new pledge for the Wings – The Special Kids Treatment and Referral Center and the Pediatric Testing Suite in Winthrop's new Research and Academic Center, which is slated to open in late 2014. Among the highlights of the event were remarks by Susan Lucci, who expressed her gratitude to Winthrop for the outstanding care both she and her family have received over the years.
