A Special Evening of Tasting and Giving Supports Pediatric Patients

NYU Winthrop staff members(l.-r.)Joseph Stambouly, MD, Gloria Petralia and Lisa Malikin at the Michael Magro Foundation’s 11th Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving.

Great food and great company were the highlights of The Michael Magro Foundation’s 11th Annual “Evening of Tasting and Giving.” The event raises funds to benefit the Cancer Center for Kids and The Children’s Medical CenteratWinthrop, aswellasotherlocalfacilities.

The Michael Magro Foundation, founded by Paul and Terrie Magro in honor of their son Michael, has been a champion for NYU Winthrop and its pediatric patients for many years. Their continued support of NYU Winthrop is generated in many ways, including this highly anticipated annual fundraiser that gives attendees the opportunity to enjoy delicious tastings from top local restaurants, bakeries, wineries and breweries, while enjoying the company of great friends.

According to Terrie and Paul Magro, the annual Evening of Tasting and Giving would not be possible without the help of their partners.

“It takes a village,” they said. “The volunteers, donors, and all of the restaurants, bak- eries, wineries, and breweries who participate – they’re the ones who deserve all the credit. It’s the people behind the scenes that make a night like this flawless and at the end of the day, all of the dollars add up in order to make a child smile. It’s amazing.”
