Senator Martins Spreads Cheer Among Young Patients

The holidays wouldn’t be the same without Senator Jack M. Martins’ (R-7th Senate District) annual visit to Winthrop-University Hospital. In December, the Senator helped spread some extra holiday cheer to children at Winthrop by delivering over 2,000 toys he collected through his annual holiday toy drive.
“Getting the gift of a new toy always makes children feel good. For a child in the hospital, it can really brighten their spirits during a tough time,” said Senator Martins, thanking the community for its overwhelming generosity. Students from 12 schools across Senator Martins’ Senate District collected and donated the toys, and some were even on hand to help distrib- ute the toys, which brought smiles to many young patients and their families.
Students from around the area collected toys to deliver to Winthrop over the holidays.
