Amanda Styles Cirelli Foundation Supports NYU Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids

Faith, hope and courage are words used to describe Amanda Styles Cirelli, a young woman who passed away at the age of 29 after a courageous fight with cancer. Amanda, known as Mandy, was a devoted teacher and aunt who loved children. The Amanda Styles Cirelli Foundation (ASCF) was estab- lished as a tribute to this remarkable young woman for a cause close to her heart – help- ing children. The ASCF honors Mandy’s memory by providing funding to pediatric cancer research and programs supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families, including NYU Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK). Recently, the ASCF and its friends visited the CCFK’s outpatient clinic with a very special donation: $20,000 earmarked for the Center’s Music Therapy program in support of a new patient music video, sound garden, instru- ments and other music-related needs. The ASCF also brought cheer to patients and families during their visit by funding a luncheon for all those receiving treatment that day.

Since 2008, the ASCF has shared in Mandy’s love for children by supporting the CCFK’s pediatric population, underwriting CCFK initiatives, including its Family Support and Music Therapy programs, as well as naming one of the Center’s treatment rooms in her honor.
