24th Annual Gala Raises More than $1,000,000

More than 800 friends and supporters of NYU Winthrop broke out their dance moves on Saturday, October 24, 2015 for the Hospital’s 24th Annual Gala, “LET’S DANCE.” The event, held at RXR Plaza in Uniondale, surpassed records by raising more than $1,027,000 – the highest-earning Gala in the Hospital’s history. This year’s Annual Gala raised essential support for NYU Winthrop’s Research Programs.

The event honored Joan Cox, Vice Chair of NYU Winthrop’s Board of Directors, and Eva Chalas, MD, Director of Clinical Cancer Services and Vice Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYU Winthrop.

“This special evening allowed us to honor two incredible leaders whose contributions to NYU Winthrop over the past 16 years have been exceptional,” said Mr. Collins. “The leadership acumen that both Joan Cox and Dr. Eva Chalas possess has been instrumental in NYU Winthrop’s continued growth and progress as a 21st century leader of healthcare services on Long Island.”
