New Member Elected to NYU Winthrop’s Board of Directors

Irene Fisher

The Board of Directors of NYU Winthrop Hospital is a committed group of com- munity and professional leaders who are charged with support- ing the mission of NYU Winthrop and setting the direction for the Hospital’s continued growth and expansion. Recently, Old Westbury resident Irene Fisher was elected to serve as part of this group, whose dedication and service carries on a legacy of commit- ment that began with the Hospital’s first Trustees in 1896.

Ms. Fisher is an esteemed member of the Long Island business community and an established, senior-level corporate legal and business executive. She currently serves as General Counsel for Piping Rock Health Products, LLC, where she is responsible for the acquisitions, legal and compli- ance functions of the company, which manufactures and mar- kets a variety of health and wellness products.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Fisher served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for NBTY, Inc., a global manufac- turer, retailer, wholesaler and E-commerce distributor of branded and private label nutritional supplements, foods and consumer goods. During her decade-long tenure at NBTY, Inc., Ms. Fisher made many valuable contributions in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, global compliance, internal investigations and regulatory matters.

Ms. Fisher’s volunteerism extends beyond NYU Winthrop. She also serves as an Alumni Interviewer for Yale University, assisting the institution in their undergraduate admissions process, and as a Class Agent for Harvard Law School, where she is involved in fund- raising efforts. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Ms. Fisher earned her Bachelor and Master’s of Art degrees simultaneously at Yale University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She also holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, where she graduated cum laude.
