Gala Raises more than $900,000 for Winthrop

Over 850 friends and supporters of Winthrop gathered on October 19th at Winthrop-University Hospital’s Annual Gala, “A Night in the Caribbean.” As guests savored the fare and sounds of a tropical paradise, the evening also paid honor to two remarkable individuals – John F. Aloia, MD, Chief Academic Officer at Winthrop, and Veronica B. Renken, Board of Directors Member and President of Winthrop’s Auxiliary – who received the Hospital’s highest awards in recognition of their years of loyal service and contributions to Winthrop. Winthrop’s 2013 Gala proved to be another terrific event, raising more than $900,000 in support of the Hospital’s Research and Academic Center Building Campaign.

To our Benefactors, Friends, Corporate Partners and the Medical Community, our greatest appreciation for making our celebration a success!
