Twinkle Town Makes Colorful Donation to NYU Winthrop Kids
Kimbo, fourth from right, and the clowns of Twinkle Town Entertainment visit NYU Winthrop with a special donation of crayons.
The Child Life Program at NYU Winthrop just got a lot more colorful, thanks to Kimbo and her fellow clowns from Twinkle Town Entertainment, a children's party planning company based in Plainview, NY. Kimbo and her clown colleagues visited the Hospital this spring to make a special donation of crayons to the Hagedorn Pediatric Inpatient Center and other areas of the Hospital that serve children.
Kimbo is a regular visitor to the Hospital, coming by each Friday to bring smiles and laughter to children on the pediatric floor and at the Cancer Center for Kids. After seeing how quickly the Child Life Program goes through crayons, she organized a crayon drive by reaching out to many different local businesses and daycares with collection boxes. Over the course of two months, Kimbo collected thousands of crayons and craft supplies for all the hospitals she visits throughout the week.
"With the help of our community, Twinkle Town loves to help make the children smile by letting them express their creative and colorful side," said Kimbo.
"Child Life depends on donations like these to provide our children with diversionary activities," said Nicole Almeida, MS, CCLS, Director of the Child Life Program at NYU Winthrop. "€œThanks to Twinkle Town's generosity all our pediatric areas are well stocked for the next several months!"
