U.S. News & World Report Names NYU Winthrop Among the Best in the New York Metro Area
NYU Winthrop has been ranked as one of the best hospitals for 2014-2015 in the New York Metro Area by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, NYU Winthrop was ranked as having 10 high performing specialties, including cancer; cardiology and heart surgery; gastroenterology and GI surgery; geriatrics; gynecology; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; orthopaedics; pulmonology; and urology.
The annual U.S. News & World Report "Best" rankings recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients. "NYU Winthrop Hospital is proud to once again be recognized among the best hospitals in the region by U.S. News & World Report," said John F. Collins, NYU Winthrop's President and CEO. "Our continued placement within these rankings is a testament to the quality care that is delivered each day across the wide range of services that are provided to patients by our first-rate clinical team."
The Children's Medical Center at NYU Winthrop also earns high rankings
The Children's Medical Center at NYU Winthrop has also again been named to U.S. News & World Report's Best Children's Hospitals rankings for demonstrating excellence in the specialties of pediatric diabetes and endocrinology and pediatric pulmonology.
Among The Children's Medical Center's notable accomplishments this year include the Division of Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology's placement among the top 20 programs in the country (#19) and the ranking of pediatric pulmonology, which moved to #23 on this year's list, up from #34 in 2013-2014.
