Hospitalization can be a very frightening experience for a child of any age. That’s where Winthrop’s Child Life Program can make all the difference. Thanks to a $5,000 grant from Astoria Federal Savings, children at Winthrop, from toddlers to teens, can continue to benefit from this remarkable program that promotes effective coping through play, preparation, education and self-expression activities.
“Since 2005, Astoria Federal Savings has been a champion for Winthrop, supporting various Hospital programs and services throughout our institution,” said Lynn Drucker, Director of Development at Winthrop. “We are most appreciative of their recent grant to support our Child Life Program, which impacts the lives of countless pediatric patients each year.”
