- Rotary Club of Williston Park Supports Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids
- February 3, 2016
Mineola, NY – The Rotary Club of Williston Park recently made a donation of toys to Winthrop’s Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK), spreading cheer and helping the CCFK fill its “Winter Wonderland,” a boutique created by the CCFK’s Child Life team for its pediatric patients.
This latest donation is a part of the Rotary’s longstanding history of philanthropy towards the CCFK that dates back many years and includes underwriting support of the Center’s Recovery Room, where patients can comfortably recover from outpatient procedures. In addition, proceeds from the Rotary’s 2015 Golf Outing were recently presented at the Club’s “Evening of Giving” event, where Mark Weinblatt, MD, Chief of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology and Director of the Cancer Center for Kids, accepted a generous contribution and thanked the organization for its dedication to the CCFK and its patients.
“We are truly grateful for the Williston Park Rotary Club’s ongoing role in helping to ensure the comfort and care we offer our children and families every day,” said Dr. Weinblatt.
