Winthrop-University Hospital’s Auxiliary has once again earned the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) Auxiliary Advocacy Recognition award. This prestigious recognition, which the Winthrop Auxiliary has earned year after year, identifies auxiliaries from across New York State that have excelled in areas of community service and local advocacy programs throughout the year.
“The Auxiliary of Winthrop-University Hospital is very pleased to be recognized by the Healthcare Association of New York State for their commitment in support of Winthrop,” said Veronica Renken, President of the Auxiliary and member of Winthrop-University Hospital’s Board of Directors.
Established in 1924, Winthrop-University Hospital’s Auxiliary has a long-standing history of supporting both the Hospital and the community through various fundraising and advocacy efforts. The Auxiliary raises support and funds for the Hospital through assorted community-based activities and the Hospital’s Gift Shop. The Auxiliary is proud of the accomplishments of the Twigs and Wings of Winthrop, the community based fundraising arm of the Auxiliary, who have made significant contributions to numerous projects and initiatives at the Hospital. Their ongoing support is vital to Winthrop’s mission of providing high quality, safe, culturally competent, and comprehensive healthcare services in a teaching and research environment which improve the health and well-being of the residents of Nassau County and contiguous county areas...based on a profound commitment to an enduring guiding principle – “Your Health Means Everything.”
Founded in 1896, Winthrop-University Hospital was Long Island’s first voluntary not-for-profit Hospital. For more information on Winthrop’s Auxiliary and Volunteer Program, please call the Volunteer office at (516) 663-2391.
