Asthma Center Mission
Our Clinical Mission is to create an environment in our patient offices that offers expertise in choreographing the best combination of medications, exercise, and psychosocial support to restore the highest quality of life to our patients. To achieve these objectives, we have recruited medical faculty with expertise in pediatric and adult pulmonology, allergy and immunology, respiratory therapy, physical therapy and pulmonary rehabilitation. Our Research Mission is to remain at the forefront of advancing physicians' knowledge about the causes, prevention, and treatment of asthma. Our Clinical Trials team has published extensively on a variety of subjects addressing questions related to asthma. We are actively involved with a large number of pharmaceutical companies as we attempt to create better and safer asthma medications. Our Educational Mission remains a central focus of our interest and is directed at helping patients, patients’ families and patients’ support systems to more effectively assist the asthmatic in dealing with his or her disease. Support systems include school nurses, teachers, coaches, school bus drivers, and companies with occupational asthma risks.
Our educational programs are typically open to the public, and are posted in the community programs calendar.
