The Rehab Center at Winthrop-University Hospital on Long Island, NY offers a full range of rehabilitation services including both inpatient and outpatient. The rehab doctors and therapists at Winthrop provide physical, occupational and speech language therapy for patients who require skilled interventions. We also have an audiologist available to provide hearing assessments. The therapists at Winthrop work with patients to create individualized rehabilitation programs that maximize each patient’s ability to function. Patients may receive therapy from one or all of the disciplines based on their unique needs. Inpatient, outpatient, and home care services are all available as well as a complete state of the art gym facility.

The inpatient services offered at our NY rehab center include both Physical and Occupational Therapy, which are available to our hospitalized patients 7 days a week, from 8 am to 6 pm, including all major holidays. Treatment is provided bedside or in the Rehabilitation Department’s gym based on an assessment by the individual therapist. Caring rehab doctors will provide interventions to maximize functional outcomes. Therapists work closely with patients, nurses, doctors and case managers to develop the most appropriate and safe discharge plan. Recommendations for post-hospital care are based on progress and include home care or ongoing skilled care at an inpatient rehabilitation facility.

These can be met through Winthrop's Home Care Agency which provides physical and occupational therapy, and other services for patients, as they continue to convalesce in their own homes.
